Each summer Mediatech offers one week coding camps. We follow a general curriculum that provides the structure that we need in order to be creative.
We’re pleased to offer five, week-long morning programming camps, designed to provide fun, informal exposure to MIT’s Scratch language and stop motion animation.
The curriculum is project based, so each child can set his or her own challenges. For ages 7-16.
NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (but experienced programmers are welcome).
If possible bring your own laptop or an iPad. Children will be using the Internet and sharing work online. Includes a light morning snack, drink and Mediatech T-Shirt; taught by college students.
Cost: The cost is determined each season, but it is generally about $100 per seat, limited to 12 children per class on a first come, first served basis. Bring a check to “Mediatech Foundation” on the first day.
Where? Downtown Flemington, in Mediatech (118 Main Street, in the 2nd Floor of the Flemington Free Public Library. Handicapped accessible).
When? 9 to noon, for five days. Parents are encouraged to come to the final session, at 11:00 to noon on Friday (the last day). Children are welcome to sign up for as many weeks as they like.
Dates: Camp sessions run weekly from the last week of June to the second week of August.
